Springfield Domestic Violence Coalition (SDVC) examined Domestic Violence incidents and charges from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Domestic Violence Annual Reports between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023. The study examined the most populated cities and counties in Ohio. The Special Report found a combined 22 53.6% of County Sheriff's Offices and City Police Departments responding to Domestic Violence incidents have arrest rates of 90 to 100%. Clermont County has a 100% arrest rate when responding to Domestic Violence Incidents when considering other charges from 2018 to 2023. The study examined 21-County Sheriff's Offices and 21-Police Departments and found that 68%, 14-County Sheriff Departments and 14-City Police Departments (Total of 28) that reported Domestic Violence incidents either "Failed to Submit" or submitted "some but not all" reports from 2018 to 2023 to OBCI. Of the 42 Law Enforcement agencies studied, Eight (8) 19.5% failed to submit ANY monthly report.
Lastly, the study found that Ten (10) 24.3% of Law Enforcement agencies had an 85% or under submission rate to OBCI from 2018 to 2023 when reporting Domestic Violence Incidents. (A total of 72 months between 2018 to 2023)
